The total population for the area is 4,623 over 42.6 square miles (108.5 people per square mile).
Gardner Township has the oldest house in Sangamon County built in 1823 on Old Salem Lane.

Gardner Township Rental Agreement
Gardner Township Hall is owned and operated by the Township of Gardner to encourage civic, educational, cultural, and public information meetings that are open to the public. The hall is not available for rent to “for profit” entities or events. The hall is not available for sporting activities such as practice or games.
Community, social and charitable organizations may use the facility for meetings up to two hours at no charge. Examples: girl scouts, boy scouts, school fundraisers, funeral gatherings, and homeowners’ meetings.
Must be a resident in Gardner Township or the group is based within Gardner Township.
